Position Title: Software Engineer

Job Description:

If you are looking to move your career in the direction of providing and helping to shape the support and construction of future Santander UK payments systems, then this role could be the choice for you.Software Engineers liaise with Santander Technology UK colleagues, IT colleagues in other countries and Santander UK colleagues to support and assist in the development of new Payments applications aligning to the strategies of the bank. These are then used by our colleagues and customers of Santander on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Communication with other teams and internal functions.
  • Have strong organisation and planning skills to manage multiple tasks so that promises are delivered
  • Involvement and with on-going projects and development activities.
  • Be effective in a team environment and be willing to contribute to collective targets, collaborating with IT Business Unit colleagues to achieve successful delivery of incident resolution, projects or evolution of products
  • A person that is comfortable performing daily health checks on assigned applications.
  • Support colleagues in functional areas where colleagues are not expert
  • Have a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude with a strong sense of initiative with the ability to learn fast and deal calmly with situations under pressure
  • An individual that can triage, investigate, and resolve incidents raised by Santander colleagues and external parties on the Service Now application.s.

Requirements:

  • Oracle Tools/Utilities PL/SQL Developer
  • Languages SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell,
  • Advantageous; Java/ Websphere, Oracle Forms 12c/11g and AWS.
  • Service Now experience or equivalent
  • Database Oracle 12c/11g/10g/9i,
  • Scheduling Control-m or other batch scheduling tool
  • MS Apps (Excel, PPT. etc.)
  • Environment Windows W10/W7, UNIX, LINUX
  • ITIL, PRINCE2, SixSigma skills/certificates also an advantag
