Position Title: RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE OFFICER

Job Description:

Independent Living Services (ILS) support vulnerable adults to live independently at home and connected to their communities, through tailored information, advice and support – enabling people to take control of their own lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Working within a team supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes, build appropriate relationships and have fun.
  • Ensuring children and young people receive a high level and quality of individual support throughout their time in the Home.
  • Working in line with the Home’s Statement of Purpose; taking responsibility for the smooth and safe running of the service, ensuring that young people receive a sensitive service which meeting their needs.
  • Assuming key worker responsibilities by implementing, monitoring and recording individual personal plans.
  • Being involved in regular, planned and specific pieces of work to meet a young person’s identified needs.
  • Taking children and young people out on activities and/or visiting friends and family.
  • Support children and young people with their education and health.
  • To promote and support children and young people’s personal life skills.
  • Participating in the home’s cleaning, maintenance and meal preparation.
  • To work in partnership with young people, families, professionals and others to promote positive relationships and work as a team around the child.

  • To work shifts (including sleeping in) within a rota pattern 365 days of the year.
