Job Description

Atkins is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies. Our Epsom office, now have an opportunity for a Document Controller to join our established team for 8 months.

We are seeking a computer literate Document Controller to join the AWE Project Team, based in Epsom. The successful candidate will be required to administer the Document Control systems for the project and provide administrative support to the team.

Due to the nature of work undertaken, incumbents of this position are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore this vacancy is only open to sole British Nationals. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, maintain and register all incoming correspondence and project related documents in the respective registers.
  • Un-encrypt discs, electronically store incoming correspondence and communicate Project instructions to the Team leads.
  • Run the incoming correspondence Day File process in a timely manner and on a daily basis.
  • Issue Document & Drawings numbers through databases and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update all project logs and provide the required information for preparation of reports.
  • Maintain project filling system as per the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and implement effective document filing system.
  • Assist in the preparation of Transmittals, along with the checking.
  • Ensure that Documents & drawings are delivered to the correct Atkins QA processes.
  • Prepare RFIs, EWNs and TQs working with Change Control Manager for submission to the client.
  • Log, file and distribute RFIs, EWNs, PMCs, TQs and maintain registers to monitor progress with close out of Engineering tasks.

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and use a Project specific Microsoft Access Document Database.
  • Ability to learn and use PowerBi.
  • Knowledge of Document Control Systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven pro active attitude.
